This French edition of The Decameron (c. 1473-1483) includes an illustration of this French translation being presented to Jean, Duke of Berry (1340-1416), who is dressed in red and gold. The man in blue, Laurent de Premierfait (1380-1418) is presenting a copy of this French edition to the Duke. An elaborate border of the royal arms of England surrounds the image.
